Ultron, the creation of Hank Pym in the comics has already appeared in this Universe but his "father" had yet to grace out screens. But Marvel didn't sit on their laurels for long, the story of Hank Pym and the Pym Particles had yet to be told. Enter the last film of Marvel's Cinematic Phase Two: Ant-Man.

"So.. We're calling the Avengers, right?"

Rican's Free 2 Play Friday: Overwatch

Welcome to Rican's Free 2 Play Friday, a weekly look into free-to-play gaming such as MOBAs, MMOs, Team Shooters, and more! This week we look at Blizzard Entertainment's newest IP in 20 years: Overwatch

Another week, another Free 2 Play game in the horizon! And while I'm usually all about MOBAs, Action RPGs, and MMOs - there's a game on my sights that could very well be the next big Free 2 Play game that takes up my gaming queue. Confirmation of the payment method is sketchy at the moment, but I'm willing to bet some heard earned cash that it will follow the current model of F2P games. But before we get ahead of ourselves, let's back it up and go back in time to Blizzcon 2014.

Strawhat's Streaming Shows: True Detective - Down Will Come

As an eight episode series, not to mention an anthology show at that, True Detective has the hardest job in cable television to tell a story within a very small window of time. The first season did extremely well because of a fast startup and a very solid premise with only two main characters. True Detective's second season had a very rough start, and has the problem of attempting to juggle four main characters (two of which aren't detectives at all) and a storyline that is, unarguably, too complicated for its own good. We're at the middle mark, so something had to give - and boy did it. A climax that was different than anything that came before during the series.

"So... this is the Pokémon you wanted, right?"

KO Coverage By A KO Look-A-Like: UFC 189- Mendes vs McGregor

It is International Fight Week for the UFC and with Fan Expo and smaller events such as the Invicta FC 13 showing building up to it, the huge fight card of UFC 189 looms near!  With the champion Jose Aldo being a no-go due to a rib injury preventing him from being able to do the workouts needed to make the Featherweight limit, top-ranked fighter Chad "Money" Mendes has stepped in to face rising star Conor McGregor for the Interim Featherweight Championship. As he is known to do with his loudmouth, trash-talking style, McGregor took little time to build animosity between them by saying a plethora of insults to Mendes.

Mendes, McGregor, Lawler, MacDonald
Two titles are going home in two match-ups too close to call
Fighting for the Welterweight Championship is defending champion Robbie Lawler against Rory MacDonald, who previously fought Lawler to a split decision and is a protege of legend George St Pierre.  Also, Matt Brown and Tim Means face each other in an exciting Welterweight match-up.

Rican's Free 2 Play Friday: Hero of the Storm - The Butcher (And the State of the Metagame)

Whew~!

So how are you guys?

I know, I know - I wasn't around last week, and for that I apologize, but here we are, with another Heroes of the Storm column! Here's what's happened in the past week and change: the Eternal Conflict has arrived, The Butcher is the first "Hero" to come from the event, and we got us a HUGE talent overhaul for most heroes (but specifically Support types). So without further ado, let's get into the meat of it all and look at: The Butcher!

Strawhat's Streaming Shows: True Detective - Maybe Tomorrow

Oh yes... that'll do nicely!

After that near heart attack on last week's episode concerning Detective Velcoro's fate, I was glad this week let us know fairly early on that he was, in fact still alive. Three episodes in and it doesn't look like any other character is going to resonate or have that much depth as Velcoro (but before I get ahead of myself, I will cover Woodrugh's interesting solo storyline in a few...) - and potentially losing him would've been a crushing blow to the show. Unless Bezzeride's character steps up, I don't see anyone taking the mantle of lead. I am interested in the "why" of Frank as a main character - and his troubles, and solution at the end of the episode was a head scratcher.

Syan Vs Movies: Terminator Genisys

He said he’d be back.  He said “Hasta la vista, baby,” and la vista es ahora, bebe! The Terminator franchise has a new installment and its Genisys has begun in this sequel-reboot. Time-travel shenanigans to the max!

This is the face the audience makes
when Pops is on the screen

Terminator: Genisys tells us the story of Kyle Reese being sent back in time to protect Sarah Connor, the mother of the leader of the resistance, from being killed by a murderous robot known as a Terminator.  …wait, that sounds super familiar, isn’t that the plot of the original Terminator?  I meant what I said about time-travel shenanigans.  Genisys is a sequel and a reboot simultaneously, showing that each step back in time fractures reality somewhat, creating multiple different timelines.  This explains why Judgment Day has moved from 1997 to 2017, and all sorts of dates in between.
